What is the Energy Management Program?

Staples has the highest standard of excellence in energy management among retailers. These results were derived from automating building controls, utilizing the latest lighting technology, and implementing innovative concepts such as solar roof installations.
Staples was named ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year in the Sustained Excellence category in 2013, recognizing the company’s leadership in energy management and resulting reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The energy management program led by Bob Valair, Director of Energy and Environmental Management is acknowledged as one of the most accomplished programs in the retail sector.
What Does Energy Management Do?
- Renewable Energy – saves energy and the planet by using renewable energies like solar, fuel cell, wind and ice storage.
- ENERGY STAR – saves energy by partnering with ENERGY STAR to sell over 600 ENERGY STAR products and certify our buildings so they are more efficient
